Hi! White text on a black image switches to black after a few seconds...only happened when I got an M1 Mac. InDesign 16.2.1.  Frustrating. Any ideas?

Any version of InDesign prior to 16.3 does not run natively on a Mac with the M1 chip but rather uses emulation software called Rosetta 2 in order to run. This has caused a lot of performance issues. The rollout of 16.3 which is the first version to run natively with the M1 is being done by country. The first group of countries to be able to download it is Australia, France, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. If you live in any of those countries then you should be able to download it through the Creative Cloud desktop app. I've yet to see any word as to when other countries will be getting it.

As mentioned already, Apple brought out their own chip the M1 - if you check the minimum specs for InDesign you will see that it only runs on Intel or AMD chips.

Apple has caused a lot of issues for 3rd party software developers, like Adobe and many other non-Apple products. The Rosetta 2 emulator is supposed to work - but it doesn't and Apple has done little to improve it.

Hopefully, when 16.3 lands for everyone it will resolve this mess.
