Text cursor placement not instant - lagging

One of the first things I've noticed after switching from CS3 to CC, is how slow the text cursor placement is.
In CS3 I'd place the cursor anywhere and it would land immediately within the text block. In CC it is not instant and there is an obvious delay. This is not very good at all. Things should have improved since CS3 and not gotten slower.

Is there any setting I can change to speed things up?

Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Please share a few more details like:

  1. The version of InDesign & OS.
  2. Is this happening with a specific file or multiple files?

We're here to help, just need more information.

Regards

Rishabh

Many thanks for your help.

iMac running latest version of Monterey

It's slow and lagging on any ID file I try it on. CS3 had much faster and instant responsiveness than this. I must say, it's pretty poor and disappointing...

Hi Rishabh,

Any word on this please? It's irritating how the cursor is lagging. CS3 was faster than this...
Thank you.

FWIW, this is very anomalous behavior. My system doesn't do it and I don't recall ever seeing such delays (although I have seen lags with very large and "bloated" docs).

So it's not a CS3-v-17.4 thing. It's likely specific to something on your system, whether it's an ID issue or something else.
