Text Frame Delay/Lag to Edit Text

Hi there, people and experts.

I am trying to get rid of the strange behaviour that every time I double click a text frame to edit a text, there is a delay of about 1 sec. I know this is not much but workflow can be very laggy when you have to copy/paste text often.

Is there a setting which trigger this short delay?

The delay is present in ID 2023 but not in 2024. As there is a preferences-bug where old prefs couldn’t be transferred to the new version, the installed ID 2024 has set to factory settings.

Alright … I can isolate the issue. When you turn off „Window > Control (Panel)“, there is no more delay or lag to text frames. Idk what exactly this lag is causing but is this a normal behaviour or a bug?
