Hi,

I am trying to place a word document in indesign.

Everything is ok except for the text wrapping.

is there a way to carry the text wrapping properties in word to indesign?

No way that I know of - as the settings are not compatible or work the same way.

When you import the Word doc the image is an anchored object.

Best idea I can come up with is to set up an Object Style - and set all your settings for Anchored Object - and also the Text Wrapping the way you like it.

Then apply it to the Anchored Objects that come in from Word.

Everything is an added step 😄 but having it as an object style means changing it globally will reduce steps in the future.

To add to @Eugene Tyson advice, I don't recommend importing inline graphics from Word. That feature only imports embedded graphics, not linked graphics. (Word can link to graphics like InDesign does, but it requires an extra step.)

Import the text, then place the file separately for best results.
