The Radial Gradient 'bug' (or feature)

Clients often ask me how they can solve the problem when they scale a rectangle that contains a radial gradient, which makes the gradient oval. This is a bummer when you combine it with a blend mode for instance and want to centre the gradient's centre on a particular portion of an image. 

There is a solution though, a quick fix. Because I explain this to my students I thought I would share it here as well. Let me know if this works for you. And remember; scale horizontally 😊

Your outcome was more to do with dragging the Gradient tool than the horizontal scaling. Why not just set the size of the frame first and then apply the gradient?
