I have been reading comments with the same topic but I cannot find the solution to my problem.

WHenever  I update the TOC, it only shows the header.
I double checked the styles already, I saved the idml and opened that, I tested with a new para style to try-still not working.

Is there any way someone can check this for me? Thank you so much!

Not really sure what's happening there - looks like it's corrupt.

Your TOC style only has FM BM - the headers are called ChapHeads or something, so your FMBM is only applied once.

Then in the old document (keep the new one open) select

Create a new document with the same Page size and same Margins etc.

Then in the old document (keep the new one open) select all the pages in the pages panel

Use the Panel menu to Move Pages and select your document as the destination.

This moves all your pages to your new file (delete the first page)

Then the TOC works here in the new file.
