Track changes wont set text colour

Hi,

I can't get Track Changes to change the text colour for added/deleted text. It will show a background colour, but any settings to the text colour are ignored.

Not the end of the world, but it's a 60k word document and it would be nice to be able to do this.

1. Where do you get the information on the change color from? E.g. PDF comments are not able to change color in an INDD file.
2. Do you work with character styles? You should work with Paragraph styles for the global appearance and Character Styles for specific parts.
3. Is the color text command applied to a text or a generated text as it comes with cross references, list numbers and bullets, running headers, etc?
4. Is the text part of a page or of a master? Master redactions will fail.

I don't think any of those apply,

It's standard body text, defined via a paragraph style. I'm tracking changes to the main text. All other change tracking preferences are working (e.g. background colour). It's not on a master page.

Could it be that this is a linked text, like a text from an inCopy Story? Look into the link panel, if it shows up there. If this is the case, you have to check out before applying changes.

Are you viewing the text in the Text Editor (cmn-y on Mac, ctrl-y on PC)? As it is the only place to see this...
