In exporting an indesign document as a pdf, I get a pop up window that said there is

“one problem was found with a background task”

and then when i open the pdf in Adobe Acrobat, the top part of the document is chopped off.

Can anyone give me advise?

Thank you.

Disable background tasks and try again - maybe you'll get more info:

Was there any additional info in the error message? Sometimes theres a dropdown option that will give you more details.

Is the top part of your document cut off on one page or all pages? (assuming it's a multi-page document). Is the content cut off an image or multiple objects like type as well? Can you share screenshots of your layout and the cut off PDF?

What PDF export settings did you use? Have you tried any other PDF presets? PDF/X-1a  should flatten the file for you, you may see different results.
