Does somebody know how this occurs; my Indesign-windows Alignment & Text wrap turn black after a couple of hours or days of using Indesign at my workplace (see attachments). Of course I tried restarting Indesign and my MAC, but that doesn't work. Indesign is updated, my workspace is MAC OS Catalina. Only kicking off Indesign and then installing it again works, but after a day or 2 to 5 I must do it again. Getting frustrated about this.

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Alternatively, when InDesign begins to behave erratically, consider rebuilding your cache and preferences. Doing so will solve most of these issues, and the link below explains both the keyboard technique (which works most of the time) as well as the more thorough approach to deleting (or renaming) your cache and preferences, which tends to resolve the more stubborn issues not rectified by the keyboard approach.

@Barb Binder Your solution is quicker then installing it over and over again, so thanks. Time will tell of this will work for the long term.

If it's happening even after a fresh install - and you're having to reset your preferences regularly - there's something more at play, perhaps 3rd party software, like anti-virus, or other applications.
I've got Web Root installed on my Mac and there's a preference in it I need to toggle everyday or the keyboard shortcuts in Adobe apps don't work.
Another user on here had an issue pressing Cmd C to copy would shoot confetti on their screen, turns out it was a third party app easter egg.
If you're constantly reinstalling or resetting preferences it's probably a good idea to look past Adobe apps and investigate 3rd party apps that are causing issues.

Hi Joyce:
Yes, I agree. And I do want to point out that the keyboard shortcut technique mentioned first is often a short term fix. Deleting (or renaming) the files/folders that I outline a little bit later tends to have a more lasting effect.
