I have two inDesign documents open

The first was opened from a .INDT file. For some reason the fonts will not load. NOTE font name {Futura std} is in brackets? The Second file was open from an indd file, the fonts loaded?! Can anybody explain this to me? How can one file load fonts and another file can't? Look at the screenshots

Is the indd file located in a folder where there is also a “Document font” folder? If yes, it means that the Futura font is not installed in your sysyem but is located in this folder and cannot be used in this document only. You have to get the Futura font installed in your system to be able to use it for other document.

If this is not the case, try to clean the font caches.

Hi together,

in case the needed fonts should be supplied with a Document fonts folder, means, the necessary font files are actually stored within that folder, make sure that you save the document in the parent folder of that Document fonts folder. Close the document, re-open the document; InDesign should load the fonts to the document.
