Type on a path

I select type on a path ttol. then click on the circle. But its not typing anything. It is showing the red plus icon .

The good thing to remember about a red + in InDesign is that the frame contains text, but for whatever reason isn't able to show it. So in this case you can tell your text is there, but you need to expand the area by dragging the anchors apart.
