Unable to Print from InDesign; 'document contains links to files/URL(s) that accessible.'

HELP!  I am unable to print my InDesign document.  The error message states 'This document contains links to files/URL(s) that are not accessible. Please check your network connectivity or the original source of content.'  When looking at the links page, there are no errors issued.  Preflight shows no errors.

I've gone to System Preferences/Security & Privacy/Privacy/Files and Folders, and verified that 'Document Folder' is checked under Adobe InDesign.

Any other suggestions?  Thank you!

If this is just one document with the issue, maybe the document is corrupt.

Try opening the document and saving it as an IDML and then open the IDML in InDesign. Hopefully the issue will go away in this new document.

Hi,

I'd place the ID document in a folder somewhere in my hard drive (the desktop would be ok), I'd open it and then I'd open the links palette (not "hyperlinks", just "links"). All the links there should appear all right, with no warning or missing icon.

- If there's any of this icons, you have to go to the troublesome link and relink it so that it is somewhere accesible to InDesign.

- Now, if all the links seem to be ok but you still have this problem, select al the linked files in that palette

Your workflow is unclear.  Can you elaborate?

Are you exporting this document to PDF?  Have you tried restoring preferences?

Thank you...

I have a document that I have just updated, and now need to print.  I tried to print it, however, I get the message mentioned above.  I then tried to save it as a PDF, and get the same message.  I even tried to save it as a JPEG, and still no luck.  Again, when looking at the LINKS panel and preflight, nothing appears to have an error.

If there seem to be no missing links, perhaps it's the URL part of the message that applies. Do you have internet access?

I do have internet access.  The document shouldn't have any type of hyperlinks inserted, if that is what you are refering to.?  I appreciate you taking the time to respond, as I am not extremely proficient with InDesign.

- Now, if all the links seem to be ok but you still have this problem, select al the linked files in that palette and with the right button, select the option that says "copy this links in..." (or something like that, I am not using an English ID). Copy the links in the same folder the indesign files are (to make easier for it to find them) and then resave the file with "save as" the same ID (to clear it in the inside).

That might help if the issue if there's some connection trouble in your network as the ID file and links are together in the same folder and drive.

I have exactly the same problem: even with precious files that earlier on didn't have any problems with exporting to pdf. Besides this problem Indesign is also extremely slow, it is nearly impossible to work. Please help!

ā€ƒā€ƒI'm having the same proble all of a sudden on all my files that were created 2 week ago, new files are fine. I checked the files and folders in preferences, security and Downloads folder is checked. I have 3 computers connected to my icloud account and cannot get the files to work. I unistalled and reinstalled Indesign, I restarted and deleted my preferences. I cleaned out my libraries and made sure everything is properly linked. How do I fix this, is there a way to find out exactly what URL is causing this?ā€ƒ

I had this problem, very frustrating.  If you have linked content thru a cloud service such as Dropbox, make sure the service is turned on and syncing when printing

I do not have Dropbox linked. I have the cloud but I have turned on and off the desktop & documents and restarted thinking maybe there was a glitch that needed to be fixed. I have worked on these files for 28 years and have never had a problem like this. Even when I converted from Quark 10 years ago. Now my libraries are empty so I'm completely frustrated

Hello

I had this problem after updating the Macintosh system and as a solution, I pulled my files to the desktop with packages. I disconnected my harddisk and was able to make my pdf file.

I had the same problem, I could not find anything wrong with my links (I had no errors, the status for each image was okay, there were no hyperlinks, etc.). I tried exporting all pages as JPEG's, and when the pages were exported as JPEGs there were two images that didn't export correctly. I deleted and re-imported those images, then the file was packaged and exported to PDF just fine.
