Unable to save any files in InDesign even new ones. the 'appear to be damaged'

Plese could someone help me.  None of my files are saving on Indesign.  

I have at one stage added plug in for Q2ID MARKSWARE software and then tried to add Blurb book yesterday.

This was really made it start  playing up.

I have tried to uninstall the plug ins and also uninstall the Indesign.  I think i reset preferences and it took ages to Index .... still isnt working

You seem to have mentioned a number of elements.

To get to the basics first, which version of InDesign and OS?

How much RAM and spare hard disk capacity do you have?

Why have you installed Q2ID MARKSWARE?

Are you trying to create artwork for the Blurb printer company and are you using their plugin?

What do you mean "Playing up"?

40 GB 2400 MHz DDR4
501GB Available of 1.03TB
We have need to pull old files from Quark through to Indesign to get updated
The blurb book was not needed I just thought it would make my life a little easier but will live without it.

By playing up I mean saying it was unable to save a file, crashing out but when I go back the file has all the changes I made in it.

Also the pdf files INDESIGN are making are very large files even when the same settings are in place as before?

There is a know issue with some Macs and having multiple monitors. Could that be you?

No not multiple monitors. I do use different hard drives to save to sometimes?

External? Network? Could be a bad connection.

To isolate the Quark files issue, if you set up a new InDesign document conventionally and populate it with some placeholder text and sample images are you able to save the document successfully (and reopen it subsequently and work on it)?
