The reasoning was that ID already had Libraries, so they distinguished the online libraries by adding CC to the name. AI and PS never had a feature called libraries, so they didn't bother to add CC to the name.

IMO, they should have named them all CC Libraries.

That's the reason? Shocking. Because I see so many differences in the UI and naming that I began to think years ago that Adobe's app teams never have a look past their "premises". How else can the apps look so different?

Hi @jakoblarsen1981 , Unless something has changed with the new version, InDesign also lets you create any number of locally saved Library panels in addition to the CCLibraries panel. The CCLibraries panel can include both explicitly local assets and sync’d PS and AI cloud assets, while the created Libraries can only contain local assets.

InDesign links still have to be stored locally, so even Photoshop or Illustrator "cloud" library assets stored in the CCLibraries panel have a sync‘d local copy stored in Users⁩ ▸ ⁨username ▸ ⁨Library⁩ ▸ ⁨Application Support⁩ ▸ ⁨Adobe⁩ ▸ ⁨Creative Cloud Libraries⁩

Correct--but the InDesign Libraries are only for InDesign elements. They cannot be shared with other programs. Any PS or AI images in the ID Library are actually previews inside of an ID frame--not the actual art. CC Libraries can contain the actual art files.
