Can't open files that were created in an older version of InDesign. I am a licenced holder of the old and new version but I keep being asked to update or convert and when I do, I get the message "You're up to date" so what they heck am I supposed to do? Should the files seamlessly open in the new version?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

What are the old and new versions, and what platform (and OS) are you on?

Was any prior version a beta release?
