Useless "Property" panel - can it be customised?

Hi everyone,

so I recently updated to the latest Indesign and there is this weird useless "Properties" panel which for some reason shows very limited random selection of options.

Not even asking why is this pointless thing there - can it at least be customised to make use of it? Can I choose to include more specific option there rather than weird cropped Microsoft Word functionality?

Updated from what? That panel's been there for quite some time. I don't use it; I use the Control Panel.

The only thing you can do is click on the three dots you can find on the right below each option to see more options.

But you can not add or remove a section yourself.
