Hi There,
Having issues with the InDesign Dictionary. It's set in preferences to use English Canadian. In the Check Spelling Window it shows French Canadian. I've clicked on Dictionary in that window and switch to English Canadian but it still shows French Canadian when I go back to the main window.
Thanks,
Wendy
The used language is set in the Paragraph Styles and, if you apply that upon a style, the Character Styles. So use those.

Recently had this in our company. I found a short script that resets the language in all paragraph styles to "English_USA":
var a = app.activeDocument.allParagraphStyles;
for (var i=a.length-1; i >= 0; i--){
a[i].appliedLanguage = app.languagesWithVendors.item("English: USA");
