Using SHIFT to scale objects and text proportionally

I am using InDesign 2021 on a new MacBook Pro. In the past I was always able to scale objects and text proportionally while holding down the SHIFT key. Now it does not work. I tried the suggestion found in the forum of rebooting and opening InDesign first. That fixes the issue briefly, but if I run any other applications I can no longer scale with SHIFT. This is a major workflow issue! Will it be resolved in an update soon?

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your experience. I tried to replicate this but couldn't. You mentioned that when you run other apps then you are not able to use Shift key for scaling. Is there any specific app you're talking about?  There could be any third party app(keygrabber, extension) running in the background.

You may also try resetting preferences and see if it helps.
