Variable Font is not working in InDesign

Hello!
I installed the variable font "Roboto Flex" from Googlefonts. Unfortunately the parameters to adjust the Font are not working in InDesign. However the Font is working perfectly in Illustrator. 

I appreciate any ideas on what could be causing this.

Have you tested to see whether this problem occurs in any other variable font?

Can you be more precise in describing this: "the parameters to adjust the Font are not working in InDesign"?
