Variable Font Problem in InDesign v19

Hi

I created a document in InDesign 18.4 which uses Gal Gothic Variable font from Adobe Fonts. However when opening the document in InDesign 19, the font is messed up.

For easy comparison I created a new document in 18.4 using dummy text, and then opened it again in 19. Results are shown below - first image is Indesign 18.4 (appears correctly) and the second is InDesign 19.

This occurred in ID19 and 19.0.1 so it hasn't been addressed.

Has anyone else encountered this?

UPDATE: Only happens with Gal Gothic Variable font weights from Demi and above, and doesn't occur with other variable fonts such as Acumin.

Thanks
Richard

Keep an eye out for the 19.1 update that is rolling out now. It might be a week or so before it's available globally.

Installed 19.01 and the problem has not been fixed. Hopefully 19.1 does fix it

I realise I wasn't clear in my original post - the issue is not fixed in 19.0.1 either.

We know that. The fix (or at a partial one) is incorporated into 19.1. That is not the same as 19.0.1.

I was responding to previous poster regarding 19.0.1, not 19.1.
