Vector icon overlayed on image disappears in PDF export

The SVG 'play button' icon that I have placed over a still image in InDesign disappears every time I export it as a PDF. I hyperlinked the button and the hyperlink still works if you hover over the area where the button was, but the button itself is gone. Any ideas?

Check to make sure that it's not set to Overprint/Knockout.

It's in the Attributes Panel

Workaround - open in Illustrator your svg and save as ai, relink this .ai to your .indd.
