Hello,
I wanted to take a brief moment out of my day to talk about how much I despise this new update. For a few months now, whenever this infuriating and utterly useless update came out (Version 17), I've been having an issue with the text box hiding all the text while I type. I use this program on a daily basis and this frustrating glitch slows me down drastically and causes me to make mistakes very often. I have reached out to customer service multiple times and no one has been able to permanently fix this bug.
Adobe, please check your updates for bugs BEFORE making them live. I don't know why I'm paying hundreds of dollars per year for a service that is not only broken, but has been neglecting their own issues for months. PLEASE fix this, I am reaching my maximum level of patience.

Unfortunately - the bugs are not prevalent on all systems - and there's plenty already going on to rectify this issue, I believe.
Try turning off the GPU Performance in the InDesign settings.

Try resetting your preferences:
The easiest way to reset everything is to delete the InDesign preferences: as soon as InDesign starts to boot hold down Shift, Alt, Ctrl (and Apple/Cmd if working on a Macintosh). A dialog will appear asking to delete the InDesign Preferences, select 'Yes' on this dialog.

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
