Maybe the file is corrupted. Try exporting to to IDML and resave it back to INDD and see if it helps

Hi @jennyfer_2360,

Were you able to resolve the issue with your book pages? Did you get a chance to try exporting the file to IDML and then saving it back as an INDD file, as suggested? Let us know if the problem persists or if you need further assistance. We're here to help!

Thanks,

Abhishek Rao

Hola!

Hi @jennyfer_2360,

Thank you for sharing the update. I'm sorry to hear that the issue wasn't resolved despite your efforts. It’s good to know you’ve found a workaround by leaving blank sheets at the end, but we’d like to help you avoid such issues in the future.

If you're still open to troubleshooting, few additional tips that might help prevent similar problems:

  1. Ensure the master pages and layout settings match your intended design for all pages.
  2. If exporting to IDML didn’t work, sometimes creating a new document and copying/pasting elements into it can resolve hidden corruption in the file.
  3. Turn on Type > Show Hidden Characters to see if there are any unexpected elements causing layout issues.
  4. Resetting InDesign preferences can sometimes resolve unusual behaviors. You can do this by holding down Shift + Ctrl + Alt (Windows) or Shift + Command + Option + Control (Mac) while launching InDesign. Reference: https://adobe.ly/3OwNd6I

If you're still facing issues or want guidance on any of these steps, feel free to ask! We're here to support your learning journey.

Best of luck with your project, and don’t hesitate to reach out again. 😊

Best,

Abhishek Rao

It's possible, that you've had so called "overset text" - red "[+]" in the bottom-right corner of the last TextFrame of the Story.

It can occur "naturally" (a) - when you've more text that can fit in the last TextFrame - or if the next, invisible text is wider than the TextFrame (b) - or if you've a page / column / frame break or setting in the applied ParaStyle.

In the case of (a) - you just need to add more TextFrames.

In case of (b) - you should either make last TextFrame wider - or add a new, much wider TextFrame.

(b) can also happen when you've NoBreak attribute applied to part of the text.

In case of (c) - you should add extra TextFrame on the next page.

Either way you can always use Story Editor to check what is going on - before you start adding new TextFrames.
