I really like working with a translucent look, such as the frosted glass look. I currently use Photoshop for this, but I would like to see a blur option available directly in InDesign. This would make it easier to avoid the use of drop shadows or external glow effects in certain designs and instead use blurred areas, which would open up new creative possibilities. Such a function could simplify the workflow and support creativity directly in InDesign.

Are you aware of the Feather options available through the Effects Panel (Window>Effects)? The Effects Panel also has transparency control and provides most of the Blending modes available in Photoshop. See https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/using/adding-transparency-effects.html.

Da hast du mich leider missverstanden. Ich meinte diesen Effekt.

That would have to be done in Photoshop.

I would make two copies of the image: the original one and the blurred one.

Import the original into InDesign and the blurred one directly on top of it.

Crop the blurred one from the top as needed.

Thank you! I may need to clarify my request. I already understand how this function works, as I created the example myself. What I’m really hoping for is to have this feature available in InDesign. I didn’t mean to ask how it works but rather wanted to express my wish to Adobe. If this isn’t the right place for that, I’d appreciate it if you could kindly provide a link where I could pass on this suggestion to Adobe. Thank you so much!

This is where you make a feature request:

Be sure to search first so you don't duplicate an existing request.
