When I export a range to PDF , the PDF page number is that of the InDesign

It is a difficult one to describe, so it is difficult to search for it.

Here's an example:

I have an InDesign File with 10 pages. These are 2-page project cards. Sometimes I make the full PDF 1-10, but many times I print ranges 3-4,7-10. Note I do NOT have any page numbers on the InDesign pages. When I export to PDF, the page navigation on the PDF takes the number of the InDesign pages. The First page reads 3 (1 of 6) and the Last page reads 10 (6 of 6). Is there a way of avoiding this?

This is not only visually odd and confusing, but it also makes navigating by page quite difficult.

Thanks, N

Hi @nsgma:

I'm not aware of any way to fix this from within InDesign. But you can fix this in Acrobat using the Page Thumbnails navigation pane.

Hi @nsgma , you can also use the Organize Pages tool in AcrobatPro. If you select all of the pages and Extract, a new PDF will be made with absolute page numbering Tools>Organize Pages>Select All>Extract:
