I am giving lot of code to forum users which I can from past couple of years. You might find them useful for you.

Check my old posts. I am always giving answer to specifically InDesign Script only.

Hi Nousheeth,

I am the author of two books on automating InDesign using scripts
("AppleScripting AdobeInDesigh" and "Automating InDesign CS4 with
ExtendScript). As you can see, these books are several years old but
most of the scripts still work; and I am feverishly working to update
as of this year. I would particularly enjoy working with someone who
seriously wants to learn scripting. You can contact me at
shirleyhopkins@me.com or through WyzAnt (where I also teach InDesign,
and other Adobe applications online).

" I would particularly enjoy working with someone who seriously wants to learn scripting."

Hi Shirley,

that's definitely the right attitude!

When I look back to 2008 I found myself in a group of three seasoned InDesign users in Germany who wanted to learn scripting InDesign with ExtendScript. We had a great teacher, Gerald Singelmann, who at that time prepared a video course on scripting InDesign for graphic designers. I am still happy that I was one of his human "guinea pigs" for this kind of endeavour.

Three things one needs when learning scripting:

[1] A very good knowledge of InDesign.

[2] Devotion and resilience.

[3] Plenty of time.

( Ok. That are four items. So also add humor… )

Regards,
Uwe Laubender

Hi Shirley,

i have bought your book „Automating Adobe Indesign CS4 with ExtendScript“.

In the book is mentioned that there is a webiste supporting the book: „yourscriptdoctor.com“

I wanted to register on the website to get the files, but this did not work.

I tried with chrome and firefox.

But there is no way to register at https://yourscriptdoctor.com/registration/

Could you please help me to get the files?

I also sent you an email but there was no reaction yet.

Thank you so much

With best regards

Reinhard from Austria (reinhard.teufelsbauer@gmail.com)

Peter Kahrel, a regular poster here, has written some great resources that are available via CreativePro (Derek  Cross has links to them from his post) but there is another resource of his that is used for making or tweaking dialog boxes - https://indd.adobe.com/view/a0207571-ff5b-4bbf-a540-07079bd21d75 (though it helps to have some knowledge of JS first).

From experience, the way that I learned JS was to effectively cobble scripts together from what I saw on these forums. Made tons of mistakes and had lots of questions, but was definitely a jumping-off point.

If the answer wasn't in my post, perhaps it might be on my blog at colecandoo!
