I just updated indesign and the top horizontal toolbar is missing. I tried everything but it doesn't work. I find it very useful to see everything as it was before.
Window > Control
I use Mac
Thank you! That has bugged me since updating on both work computer and home laptop!!
This did not work for me, is there any other way to fix this?
you are looking for the Control panel.
Like all other panels it's available under Window > Control.
The only panel that behaves a bit different is the new PDF Comments panel that is only available when a document is open.
Thank you so much Uwe! I got it
THANK YOU BobLevine!
That worked! Thanks.
I'm struggling to find extra tool bar at top InDesign. I'm using Windows and can't find the toolbar section at the very top that gives buttons to adjust "show hidden characters, etc... Anyone know if this is because that top bar only is available on mac?
Window menu > Control
WHAT? Control??? Ive been looking for this for days. Why would it be called "CONTROL"???
STOP CHANGING THINGS THAT DON'T NEED TO BE CHANGED, ADOBE!
Been called that for two decades!
I could not agree more!! Aargh!
Whoever designed this to be this difficult to turn on should be fired.
What the hell are you talking about? If you can't figure something like this out, step away from the computer and don't ever come back!
from an UX standpoint I do think that it is NOT reasonable to not show the Control panel with every default workspace.
FWIW: Workspaces [Essentials] and [Review] are missing the Control panel.
