White screen when selecting text or setting rulers

Since updating to Sonoma, my Studio Mac version of InDesign, 19.1, goes to a white screen whenever I try to select a block of text or set the rulers. This has been the case on all versions of Sonoma or InDesign on Sonoma.

I'm getting pretty sick of Adobe blaming Mac and Mac blaming Adobe. JUST FIX IT ALREADY! This is a very sad commentary on two, usually superior, companies and their software.

The workaround (from Adobe Help):

Issue 1: The screen turns white when trying to marquee select objects on the layout or selecting text with the Text tool in CPU Preview and Overprint Preview modes in macOS Sonoma.

Workaround: Work in GPU mode only.

As to who to blame, I call it on Apple. Adobe cannot fix an application like InDesign until a new Sonoma version comes out. Looks like it will be Sonoma 14.3, already being tested, due late January. Hang in there!

Turn off the rulers and let Apple know. It's their bug.
