Why does hyperlinked image have dotted line around it?

This green arrow had no blue dotted line around it until I hyperlinked it to an external web page. You can see from the screen grab shows that its box has no stroke applied to it. Any thoughts on why InDesign is imparting this unwanted dotted line?

I likely found the answer:  View > Extras > Show Hyperlinks.

 

Important note: I did not turn this option on. I have noticed that sometimes, adobe app settings change apparently on their own and this might be an instance of that.
