Working in RGB and exporting RGB PDF?

Hi everyone,

I can't seem to find the right combination of settings (or, a definitive guide) as to how I can work in RGB (so that things appear more accurately on-screen) as well as export to a PDF.
Done experimenting for now... figured I should just ask 🙂

Hi @turner111 , Unlike Photoshop and Illustrator, InDesign doesn’t have a single document color space, you can define RGB, Lab, or CMYK colors in the same document. An InDesign doc has both RGB and CMYK Profile assignments that handle the display of RGB and CMYK native colors and Swatches.

On a PDF Export you have the option to accurately convert all of the color to any RGB or CMYK space by choosing a Destination Profile in the Output tab—you could convert all of the document color to sRGB by setting the destination to that profile. Interactive PDFs are automatically converted to sRGB.

If you are using transparency you would need to set the Transparency Blend Space to RGB in order to get the full RGB gamut on a conversion to an RGB destination Profile.
