Wrong Dimensions after JPG Export

New Here ,

Hey there,

frustrating behavior with an online printer again and again caused by the JPG Export in InDesign, every CC Version (Maybe CS6 doesn't have this error... i didnt tried yet). This time the files crashed a last minute deadline... -.-

If i export my A4 document to JPG with 300ppi, i get files with resolution 2528x3555px. Its A4 with 2mm on every corner. 21,4x30,1cm.

These files are shown in Bridge with 89,2x125,4cm at 72ppi and 2528x3555px. These files arent printable over my online printer. Got stupid errors about the dimensions cause the meta information are interpreted like in bridge.

If i open a page in Photoshop and have a look at the image dimensions, i get 21,4x30,1cm at 300ppi.

If i save that file in JPG again, Photoshop creates a file with correct meta data dimensions. No changes on the pixels/resolution. These files are printable.

Yes, the online print service is... special. Other serives have no problems with that files. I ask them to change there system to have a look at the pixels too... but since 2 years nothing happend in that directions.

For me its a bug in InDesign - how can I fix that without using a diffrent fileformat. Can anyone reproduce this error?

Regards,

Chris

Hi Chris, I’m not seeing the problem in either Bridge or Photoshop, but why raterize the page for print output, surely the printer will accept a PDF?

This is what I get in Bridge
