Hi,

We are going to layout the second edition of a book. The first edition was made by another company. I have learned that the cross references of this book is now set up in XMetal (has something to do with XML it seems. I would like to set the book up in InDesign. Anyone know if I can convert this XMetal file to InDesign or how to go about it?

Thanks,

Anita

XMETAL is a XML editor. I worked I while with it, but never in connection to InDesign. I had to set up books with Schema4.

But I think you could try to import the XML structure and InDesign has an XML panel where you can add formats to XML nots. Be aware I am not a XML specialist, it is only the way where I would try to start and try.
