Hope you might be able to help us with this issue. We are importing an xml file to InDesign (notes for financial statements) - and get this error message when replacing the xml file with a new (and updated) version..

"Cells are too small to split"

If we open a new document the file has no issues, but we are struggling when updating within an actual styled document..

Hi there,

We are sorry to hear about the trouble you are facing. I would request you to please share a few more details like:

  • OS & the exact Version of Indesign
  • Is this happening while importing a particular XML file? If yes, would it be possible for you to share the XML & InDesign file with us?
  • Please share the screenshot of the error message.

Also, please check & confirm if this is a similar issue you are facing mentioned on this UserVoice (https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/38987725-split-column-d...). If yes, please upvote it & add your comments there. I will forward it to the product team, and they will be happy to look into it.

We are here to help. We just need more information.

Regards,

Anshul Saini
