Zeile geht über Textrahmen hinaus

Hallo,

Denise

Hey - looks very strange - never saw this before!

But here's something to try

See the below - the hyphen is something like a discretionary hyphen or a non-breaking hyphen (not entirely sure)

Can you remove this - and see if the text fixes?

Hey Eugene,

thanks for your quick reply!

That hyphen is the regular one for automatic hyphenation. But I already tried to seperate the words manual, I tried to change the language, I tried to write the text again in the line below the affected one – the problem survives every trick! 😉

Hallo Denise,

Was sagt denn der InDesign-Preflight?

Und: Gibt es Auffälligkeiten im Bedienfeld Schrift > Schriftart suchen/ersetzen… ?

Good deduction from @Laubender there.

Uwe - could it be the discretionary hyphen is not a found glyph?

As there's another line above that is not affected, but probably because the discretionary hyphen is not at the end of the line?

Do you think this is possible?

Hi Eugene,

I'm not sure about this. I think, we recently had a case here in the forum where one missing glyph enforced wrong rendering of blanks. Have to see if I can find that discussion…

But there are enough other lines (even in footnotes) where InDesign uses the same glyphs and doesn't change into that weird formation. What I mean is: InDesign can decide to not find a single glyph, even if it finds all the same other ones – yes. But in this case I already chose the correct paragraph, searched for the fonts etc.

I also think that @Laubender is right – the font itself seems to be the problem.

Hallo Denise,

Also InDesign ganz schließen. Schrift deinstallieren. Neu installieren. Rechner neustarten.

Rechner neu starten. Schrift über die Adobe Creative Cloud Desktopp App aktivieren. InDesign starten.

Lieber Uwe,

danke für deine Ausdauer!
Aber auch Schließen, Deinstallieren, Neuinstallieren, Neustart klappt leider nicht.

Liebe Grüße!

Hm. Zeig' doch mal einen Screenshot vom Bedienfeld:

Schrift > Schriftart suchen/ersetzen…

Hallo Denise,

Portions of text are highlighted pink w/ tiny squares next to them
Mycelian, Sep 16, 2021
https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/portions-of-text-are-highlighted-pink-w-tiny-squ...

Uwe Laubender
