Zoom issue in Indesign

New Here ,
Apr 03, 2024 Apr 03, 2024

I am having an issue where when I zoom either in or out, the zoom % goes to the lowest number 5% or sometimes lower, that's regardless if I zoom in or out.  I had the same issue in Illustrator and realized there was a setting in the Illustrator<Settings<General<uncheck Display Print Size at 100% Zoom. That fixed Illustrator but the same issue is happening in Indesign. HELP!

I also can not see any guides. I'm thinking it's related to the zoom issue.

What happens if you are pressing Cmd/Ctrl plus (to zoom in) or minus (to zoom out)?

What happens if you press Opt/Alt and roll the mouse scroll wheel forward or back?

You might need to reset preferences/caches. Here is how:

When I Cmd+ or -, it goes straight to 5%. I'll try resetting preferences.

Resetting preferences/caches did not work.  You can see in the bottom left the zoom size is 1.65%. When I zoom in or out, it goes straight to 5%.

The next thing you might try is to export the .indd file out as an .idml file. Re-open the .idml to rebuild a new .indd file. Save it. Test to see if it zooms properly.
