I'm in the middle of editing a 250+ page InDesign doc, with lots of illustrations, and pages that were fine an hour ago have gone wonky...
Looking into it further, the illustration frames are still there, and the Links show that the illustration is still linking; but in the Link Info it says that the Scale is 0% and that the Effective PPI is "inf x inf" (for "Infinity"..? That would make sense, mathematically...)
And while I can see the text on the page just fine, when I try to make a PDF of those pages they show up as completely blank.
I've quit the program, and restarted the computer, but still have the same problem.
Hi sherryy32713912,
your document seems to be damaged.
What you can try: Export to IDML, open the IDML file with InDesign and save it to a new name.

hi Uwe -
Yeah, I found this solution after I posted. Thank you for replying..!
Is this just a weird bug that happens very infrequently..?

And if Uwe's answer doesn't work, check out the complete list of steps to troubleshoot a damaged file here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/indesign/kb/troubleshoot-file-issues.html
If all else fails, here is a link to a for-a-fee file recovery service:
https://markzware.com/products/file-recovery-service/
Or you can send your file to idfile@adobe.com.

Hi Sherry,
the reason for this bug is not clear. It never happened to me, but if you search the forum you'll find some cases.
Do you know what you did before this occured to you?

The same thing happened to an Indesign layout at my office -- the images on 50-plus pages of a 300 page layout turned to zero % scale and were invisible, and showed an effective resolution of "inf x inf", plus they had been flipped upside down. I tried saving as an IDML file as suggested here, but that did not fix the scaling, but it did change the effective resolution to "1200 ppi" which was not correct considering they were still scaled at zero %

Hi @defaultb8er8gi7z6vd ,
you also could try the following if not all spreads in the document are affected:
[1] Add a new spread after the one where you have the issue.
[2] Copy and Paste in Place the contents of the damaged spread.
Important: To copy the contents do not use Select All!
Instead use a selection marquee to do a selection area with the Selection Tool.

Please suggest.

Hi Asim,
well, when both suggestions did not work, IDML and doing a new spread where you copy the contents to, I have no idea how you could resolve the issue. I fear, that you have to rebuild the spreads in a new document from scratch.
