Accessible PDF - export to pages issue

I have document (magazine) that uses spreads. When I export the document to pdf spreads, all of the alternate text is fine in the accessibility check. When I export the document to pdf pages, any images that go across a spread and now appear on 2 pages have a error. Essentially, the alt text will work for 1 part of the image, and the other it will not. In the Accessibility check they show up as "Other Elements alternate text - Failed" and the item isn't even in the tags as a Figure. (Half is, half is not). 

Does anyone have any solutions for this?

InDesign version 16.0 (latest version); Acrobat Pro DC version 20.0 (latest version)

Hi Jenny,

hm… Wouldn't be the solution to use two frames for the image that crosses the spine?

One on the even page, one on the odd page. And also repeating the alt text.

There are criterion in the accessibility standards (WCAG, PDF/UA-1) regarding redundant information, and that comes into play with elements that cross over a spread, such as the graphic described.

The desired end-result:

The photo and its Alt-text is live (accessible) only once in the tag tree, on one page or the other. Do not repeat the <Figure> and its Alt-text twice.

Uwe's suggestion of 2 frames (one on each side of the spread) is a good workaround, but artifact one half and put the Alt-text on the other remaining half.
