Adobe fonts won't sync to InDesign, CC f keeps spinning

I've tried all the steps in the support articles (with the help of IT, because I don't have admin credentials on this laptop), and nothing works. 

 

I've looked at:

The things we haven't done are create a new Windows user and try a clean install of Windows. And really, we shouldn't have to do that. 

 

The font syncing works fine on my work desktop, but we're all working from home right now (well, those of us who can), and this is the first time I've needed to use this laptop. I'm currently not allowed per IT policy to remote in to my work desktop. But again, I shouldn't have to -- I should be able to get it working on this laptop. 

 

Anyway. Please help. This is so frustrating.  😞
