Dear Adobe community,

we are a company who is using Adobe InDesign CC for marketing purposes. Unfortunately we do experiences crashes of the program.

When we try to open a certain .INDD file which was previously created by Adobe InDesign CS2 then the program freezes with a black background (menubars visible). Then it does display the following crash message box (in German):

adobe_crash_window.png

We are using Adobe InDesign CC 14.0.2 x64.

1) How to report this crash to the Adobe development team?

2) What is the usual timeframe of crashfixes?

3) How can we get to the bottom of this crash? (logfiles, etc)

Yours,

Martin from JAWA-Reisen GmbH

Hi Martin,

Sorry to hear about your experience. You may follow the instructions given on this help article to share the crash report with us.

If the crash is happening due to a certain file, chances are that file is corrupted itself.

There are multiple factors both internal and external to the application that can lead to document corruption, however, we can take a look and see if the file can be repaired. Please email your InDesign file to idfile@adobe.com and we will take a look at the document. If the file is larger than 10 Mb, you can upload to Creative Cloud account (or Dropbox) and send us the document link.

I must also inform you that file recovery can't be guaranteed with a 100% success. We'll surely try our best.

Regards,

Ashutosh

Hallo Martin,

Was auch helfen könnte:

Uwe Laubender

Sehr geehrter Herr Laubender,

https://www.recosoft.com/products/pdf2id/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzefU3Ji06wIVDNOyCh3OFg05EAAYASAAEgKcd_D_...

Das würde ich mal testen.

Hallo Herr Laubender,

Uwe Laubender

Sehr geehrter Herr Laubender,

Sorry.
