Adobe InDesign constantly crashing on iMac OS Catalina 10.15.3

Any ideas to help me get on with a book design. InDesign keeps crashing and the tools panel freezes up. I have tried uninstalling InDesign and reinstalling countless times but it is becoming tiresome and I need to get this book finished as there is a publishing deadline. Any ideas out there of how this issue can be fixed please would be gratefully received? Thanks.

What version of InDesign are you using? For best results with Catalina you should be using the most up to date version—CC 2020.
