adobe indesign online publishing overwrite changes to new URL

When you create a design and use the online publishing tool and upload it then it provides you with a URL that you can embed or share and pass around a community. Then when you need to make a very simple change like a spelling error and publish the change and you choose 'update existing document' it publishes it to a new URL. So now the entire shared community has a broken link over a simple edit in spelling or some such thing.

Am I doing somehting wrong?

Is there a way to preserve the URL so links don't break all over the world?

Regards.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your experience. As per the information given on this FAQ, first make the necessary changes to the InDesign file used to create the published document. Click the Publish Online button, and in the Publish Online dialog, choose Update Existing Document, and select a document to update from the dropdown menu. Click OK to upload the document and re-publish to the same URL.

Hope it helps.

Regards,

Ashutosh
