Not quite sure what you mean, but ...

  • If you're talking about labeling the Master Pages, select your desired Master Page/Spread and click on the hamburger menu at the upper-right of the Pages panel. If you want to change the Prefix: edit box from a capital letter to a number, you can there.
  • If you're talking about numbering the Document Pages, first place your Current Page Number marker on the Master Page, then go to select the first Document Page and select the Layout>Numbering & Section Opt

This does the trick! Thank you. I had watched many tutorials that had said to do it another way (from within the double click option in master pages). You're suggestion was much more simple. Much appreciation!

Hi  Talithaw:

To add page numbers to an InDesign document:

  1. Navigate to the master pages
  2. Add a text frame
  3. Insert the page number marker into the text frame using Type > Insert Special Character > Markers > Currrent Page Number

To change the default page numbers on the body pages:

  1. Navigate to a body page.
  2. Click to select the page icon in Window > Pages
  3. Right click over the selected page icon > Number & Section Options (or use the Pages panel menu)
