Auto Recovery is crashing InDesign 2021 (16.0.2) on macOS Big Sur.

I can't open DBTemp files and IND keeps crashing when trying to autorecover files. It has been crashing a lot and i've lost hours of work multiple times. I havbe uninstalled-reinstalled, deleted preferences and every other "stock copy and paste" answer in these forums. I've sent crash error reports and it's driving me nuts.

What is the recovery folder even for if i can't open the files?

Sorry to hear about this. Looks like the file got corrupt/ damaged. There are multiple factors that can lead to file corruption, however, we can take a look and see if the file can be repaired. Please email your file to idfile@adobe.com & we will take a look at the file.

I must also inform you that file recovery can't be guaranteed with a 100% success. We'll surely try our best.
