Automate Master Pages

Is there a way to automate master pages in InDesign? I have two pages, left-hand and right-hand, I'd like the master pages to be automatically assigned to each body page without having to do it manually every time. Thank you!

If I understand your question, you can use a two-page Master, and put the page numbers in the appropiate place on the right and left pages in the master spread.
