Automate Path-Creation

Hi,

i do have a bunch of *.png in black and white.

white is the background

black are very simple geometric-forms.

>> i need to convert this geometric forms into vectors.

my idea was:

to place the png into indesign

select it

object > clipping path > options > type: detect edges / treshold:1 / tolerance:0 > OK

the path is then 100% perfect, good so far!

(sometimes i need to doubleclick the object-edges to minimize them to the real boarders of my object, otherwise the object-edges can be much wider then the actual object is)

then i can save it as an *.eps and use it in vector based tools. PERFECT

BUT because i have some 1000 objects with the exact same process, i would love to find a way, how i can automate this process above. PNG >> find PATH >> EPS

does anybody has an idea, if there is a way in doing this job within indesign??

i am open for photoshop e.g. cause there exists ACTIONS, but i cant "find the PATH-automation" as 100% correct as in indesign.

I think you may want to consider switching to Illustrator for this task. 

I am not sure how well its Image Trace automates but it might provide better vectorication results. 

Maybe ask for additional advice over on the Illustrator Forum?

I agree with @c.pfaffenbichler  InDesign cannot be used for tracing (converting images to vector graphics)  but the Image Trace feature in Illustrator may be able to help you. Post you requests in the Illustrator forum.
