Is it possible to autopopulate running headers with data from the front cover? I'm creating a newsletter template and want all the headers to change when I change the edition on the front cover.

Thanks.

Go to the Type > Text Variables > Define menu.

Click the New button.

Give your variable a name, change type to Custom Text, and enter in your text.

Click OK and then Done.

On the cover, use the Type > Text Variable > Insert Variable and pick your variable. Format as needed.

Insert the variable on the master page(s) and format as needed.

Whenever you need to update, go back to the Define menu and Edit the variable text.

I'm a little greener than that. Can you tell me how from beginning to end?
