is there a way to change to direction of a letter to be a mirror image of what it is supposed to look like?

Grab one handle of its text block and pull it across itself. This will mirror everything inside the box.

(You could also use Object > Transform > Flip Horizontal, or the Flip Horizontal button in the top formatting bar)

Hi Peter,

If are thinking about one letter, like the Toys "R" Us logo, you would need to put the letter into separate frame, and then follow SJRiegel's advice, above.

It's not a question of Right To Left text. It's that the text frame has been reversed to 180 degrees.

This is the text with the text frame set properly.

Hi Peter,

if it's just one or a bunch of character you could do a special font where all glyphs are mirrored shapes of their original designs. You can even do this in InDesign with a special script: Indiscripts :: IndyFont

Also do a character style where you apply the special font to the text.

If you want to apply this to one single character you are done.

If not and you want to apply this from right-to-left to a whole word you have to do a character style that is running text from right-to-left. This could be done with the MENA version of InDesign very easily or with a script.

Important: You have to change the paragraph composer to the Adobe World Ready Paragraph Composer.

Regards,
Uwe
