Black screen when opening adobe programs

Hi all,  when I open Idesign (and the rest of adobe programms) all I get to see is a black screen. I can't click on most of the options in the menu (like creating a new file) and when I try the close the program it's says that it can't shut down because of a dialogue screen or warning that must be open, but isn't visible. Is there someone who can help me out?

Can you confirm the exact version of the software and operating system?

Have you cleared your preferences?

Delete InDesign preferences with shortcuts

You can delete the replaceable InDesign SaveData and InDesign Defaults files by holding down the following keys while InDesign is launching:

• Windows: Shift+Ctrl+Alt
• Mac OS: Shift+Control+Option+Command
