Can Adobe fonts installed on MacBook Pro be legally used for commercial publishing of a paper book?

For a book layout design, a designer specifically has purchased the Apple computer: MacBook Pro, as well as registered legal usages of Adobe InDesign CC.

The publisher requires the book designer to provide clear and accurate official legal documents from Apple, proving that Apple fonts can be legally used for commercial purposes; otherwise, Adobe fonts would have to be replaced with the Fangzhen fonts or Hanyi  fonts that the publisher has purchased  legal use rights. This refers to fonts installed througgh Adobe Creative Cloud.

Please advise.

Thank you.

Not only can Adobe fonts be used legally for books that are to be printed, but they can be used for digital books such as ePubs, where you'd normally have to buy a special separate license from a foundary for such use.

Hi Adam,

if you are using Adobe Fonts ( the service ) from the cloud be aware that it could happen some day that you or your customer have to purchase the fonts from the type foundry itself if you want to use them with your documents.

This summer fonts from four* type foundries were removed from Adobe Fonts service.

For details see e.g. this thread:

Foundries leaving Adobe Fonts

It's not that the fonts are not available anymore, you still can purchase them from the makers, but you will get a Missing Fonts warning if you used one of the listed foundries' fonts from the Adobe Fonts service and open a document with InDesign or a different application that needs them.

EDITED: Was wrong on the number. As I can see that were two foundries that left the Adobe Fonts service.

Thank you so much, a good point! Probably best to stick with Adobe Originals, I would imagine.

Do you agree?
