I currently have Indesign 15.1 on my mac. I would like to update to 15.1.2, but one of my publisher clients has asked me not to as 15.1.2 changes the text flow in long documents made in previous versions. Is it possible to have both at the same time so I can use 15.1.2 for new documents (I mostly do long books) and use 15.1 for files created earlier?
Reflows happen when different dictionaries are used. E.g. one uses the document’s dictionary and the other uses the local dictionary which is different for each user as they add or delety entries or work on a hyphenation. You should both agree only to use the dictionary included in the document and include it also when saving.

Yes you can, see the following article

Furthermore, 15.1.2 is effectively a bug fix release over 15.1 or for that matter even 15.0.
You should not be seeing any document reflow! Is that speculation on you clients' part or fact with some examples?

I'll have to ask! But interestingly, in the last few days I've noticed some funny little reflows even in 15.1. I should have kept a record of them. But I will do so now, and if another comes up while I work on this long document, I will communicate with you about it.
Thank you!
